[bfdmedia] Structure fire press release

The Bath Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call for a structure fire at 137 East William Street at approximately 6:45am this morning. Upon arrival of the first officer witnessed heavy smoke coming from the building with one female occupant standing out front of the residence. Mutual Aid was given by Hammondsport and Savona Fire Departments to the scene with The Bath VA Fire Department standing by for Bath in case of another call. The owner and occupant Sandra Frazier was transported by Bath Volunteer Ambulance to Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath for treatment of smoke inhalation. The fire was contained to one room of the home, however there was heavy smoke and heat damage throughout the first floor. Ms. Frazier will be reportedly staying with friends. The preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be a propane space heater but is currently under investigation. [bfdmedia] 2013 Bucket Brigade

Just a reminder that the 2013 Red Knights Bucket Brigade ride to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project is this Saturday August 24th. Registration is from 8:30am to 10:15am. Bikes roll at 10:30 sharp from the Bath Volunteer Fire Department at 50 East Morris Street in Bath, NY. The ride ends at the Hammondsport Fire Department’s “Smoke on the Water” BBQ competition next to the Hammondsport Station with an arrival at approx. 4pm. All media is invited to attend and see the turn out, and talk with some of the riders and possibly some of our local Wounded Warriors too. We had nearly 200 bikes last year and raised $3,500 for the Wounded Warrior Project. The weather looks good and we are hearing very positive feedback that there will be more bikes this year!
